Anyway, I am thinking 60 lb INCHES tops.

Anyone ?

P.S. I have around 7500 miles on the Series 2000 0W-30 and will have it analyzed here in the next few days.

Yeah dude, you'll kill it w/60 lbs.

20 lbs is approximately hand-tightening w/o reefing on the wrench. That is usually what the torque spec is for an oil drain plug.

 

The man quoted inch pounds. 60 in. lbs. is 5 ft. lb.

The correct torque is 29 ft. lbs. or 348 in. lbs.

Factory spec for a 1999 v-6 is 27 Ft-Lb.

Part # for a new drain gasket is 90430-12028.

I will re-torque it tonight...

...I did a huge out of the over torqueing comment.

I wrote the INCHES in upper case so that it would be clear I became very familiar with lbs ft and lbs in when I did my SC install.

We did fall down somewhat. I notice you got the gasket part number on Outdoor Wire. It was correct, also.

The 29 ft. lbs. is from the 2000 shop manual.

 

I'm installing the Fumoto drain valve on my next oil change. I do my own and I hate the mess. This makes life easy when I do my Amsoil analisys too.
